Lack of Motivation?

I don’t think motivation leads you to practice exercise but the other way around.
You should aim for simple goals!
If you sit on the couch watching TV for hours and you feel to depressed to go outside, just try to start walking in the same place for 5 minutes. You can do it at home and your body is your gym. If you walk 5 minutes in the morning, 5 in the afternoon and 5 at night you just did 15 minutes and at the end of the week almost 2 hours walking!
Like I said before, to create a habit you need 21 days, so for 3 weeks it is important to stick to it but then you may once in a while take a break.
Since I walk with LS I keep a fitness diary where I write down my goals, my weight, my waist perimeter, the exercise and everything I eat or drink every single day. This helps me to stay focused and keeps me motivated since I keep track of my progress. Another thing that may also help is post-it! A post-it in your fridge, near the couch and in the bedroom constantly reminds our goals.
Try this, write down your weight now and one month later.
So, how many pounds have you lost??

A balloon challenge

When I was younger I loved to play with balloons but then I started feeling some fear when I was near them, I hate when balloons pop and their loud and unexpected noise.

But now I’ve decided to stop avoiding them and last Sunday I’ve bought a pack of 50! I blew up a pink one till the size of a baseball ball, I didn’t have the courage to keep blowing it more, I was afraid that it popped out.
Next day when I woke up I looked at the balloon and I have had an idea! At the same time I overcome this phobia I can burn some more calories! So I started to play with the balloon as it was a soccer ball with the objective of not letting the ball touch the ground, wall or any furniture, only by kicking it with feet, knee and head. Something like this:

Is walking good exercise?

Since I’ve started walking with Leslie Sansone I’m feeling more optimistically and with a lot more energy and walking with LS is now part of my daily routine. At first there were times that I wasn’t a little bit motivated to do it, now I love it and I just can’t wait for the next walk.  Since walking is a simple and cheap exercise and the weather outside can’t even be an excuse I believe that is the best way to start doing something at any age and weight. I’ve found out that walking is also a excellent way to combat depression and reduce stress so... what are you waiting for?? Stop planning and Start doing it!

What the experts say?
According to Dr. Michael Roizen walking is a fantastic form of exercise and we should do it at least 30 minutes a day.
According to Dr. Robin Miller walking as an everyday routine can keep us fit (emotionally and physically) for life. It only requires motivation and good shoes and walking just 30 minutes a day can cut the risk of breast cancer in half. It also helps to maintain a healthy weight, lower blood pressure, lower LDL (bad cholesterol) and raise HDL (the good one).
According to Chris Gomes, a HFPN Coach, walking is literally the first step toward weight loss and fitness, and can be a great place to start. Walking will burn some calories, keep the muscles active and can improve the heart and lung function.
To see more dramatic improvements in health, and faster progress other cardiovascular exercises can help such as running, bicycling and swimming on a regular basis. Incorporating resistance training (exercise bands, weights, body-weight, etc.) will speed your progress even more.

#4

I'm finding so hard to control myself around junk food this month... Every day is so monotonous... studying all day long, can't wait to finish all my exams!! A chocolate or a cookie seems to be the only thing that makes me relax.

Day 1. Chocolate Salami and pastry
OK... starting again.

Day 2. Day 1. Candy bar: Twix ....

One more time... Tomorrow is another day, another 1st day...

Another day to break this habit!

Salty Challenge

Hi there!

Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas time!

Well, December gave me a lot of delicious cookies ans deserts to enjoy but, unfortunately, I've also gained all the weight I had lost until then...

But not all the news are bad ones...
I've accomplished my first challenge! I'm no longer a soda drink addicted.
It was a little hard at first, specially when there were friends near me drinking them but then I got used to drinking just water, tea or fruit juices. Since November I only drank two iced-teas and one sprite and now they turn out to be not as tasty as they used to!

First challenge accomplished, time for the 2nd one!

Last Friday I've started another challenge (not eating cookies) but then I realised that there are other food adictions way more important to control...

So I'm putting an ending to industrial cakes and salty snacks, starting today.

Wish me good luck!
